  • Built in 1825 and burnt in 1846, the Opéra-théâtre was rebuilt as we now know it the following year. The only permanent classical space in Avignon, this proscenium theatre allows the Festival to welcome shows requiring a genuine black box. Its orchestra, dress circle and balconies can hold nearly 700 spectators.
