The show's title is the beginning of a note that Koltès wrote concerning In the Solitude of the Cotton Fields. It is therefore not a play but pedagogical material, a crossing through Koltès' territory also including notes and letters. Koltès' characters are beings "on the lookout" as Deleuze understood it, in the animal sense of the word. On the alert in a disturbing and often dark, nocturnal territory like speech that says too much or too little, that overflows, that says everything except what it seems to say like in a dream, like at night.
