Presentation

  • The title of this musical evening is that of one of the lieders that compose it. With this Swan Song, Romeo Castellucci invites to listen to Schubert's music in the ancestral prop room of a theatre. “How can this singer know my innermost being better than me? What is the origin of this music that so deeply affects my own origin? And where do my tears come from, stripped of content and so far from the sentimentality that I detest?”, questions the director, seated in the dark. Romeo Castellucci and Valérie Dréville were associate artists at the Festival d'Avignon in 2008.
