Presentation

  • After Où les hommes mourraient encore (Where men would still die), which was named best discovery in 2011, and Keep Going, nominated for the artistic and technical creation section of the Prix de la critique théâtrale 2014, Aurelio Mergola, Sophie Linsmaux and Sophie Leso delve deeper into the insolent and quirky visual world they've created by diving into the everyday life of two antiheroes. Marta and Angus, as usual, have lunch in the staff canteen at work. But today, all of a sudden, Marta attacks her colleague, who tries in turn to strangle her. What might have happened between 12:45 and 1:05? Why this violent fight? What strange discovery could so disrupt their meal?

Together with Bénédicte Mottart and Coralie Vanderlinden, Sophie Linsmaux founded in 2008 the Compagnie 3637, based in Brussels, with which she notably created Zazie et Max. Her collaboration with Aurelio Mergola has already produced two shows, Où les hommes mourraient encore and Keep Going.

With a degree in dramatic arts and a training as a dancer, Aurelio Mergola has worked as a performer in shows by Nathalie Uffner, Ingrid von Wantoch Rekowski, or Charlie Degotte. Meanwhile, he works on the conception and direction of his own shows with Sophie Linsmaux.

After training in the arts of the circus and studying at the Marcel Marceau School of Mimodrama, Sophie Leso started working as a choreographer. As a dancer/actress, she performed under the direction of Pippo Delbono and co-created several shows in Belgium, France, Switzerland, and Portugal - Nove e Meia, Trio, Yosh. Since 2011, she has been collaborating with Sophie Linsmaux and Aurelio Mergola.
