Francisco Contreras Molina, a.k.a. Niño de Elche, and Matej Kejžar work together for the first time with this duet in which their bodies, that of a dancer and that of a singer, one for the eyes and one for the ears, create delightful combinations. Rave was conceived as an energy drink for the soul, the title chosen to bring great gatherings to mind. Francisco Contreras Molina and Matej Kejžar prefer to the words “music” and “dance” those of “sound” and “movement,” which open minds and bring us back to the raw forms of dance and songs.
A dancer and choreographer Matej Kejžar was born in Slovenia and trained at the SNDO in Amsterdam. From 2009 to 2013, he worked with the dance company Rosas on the creation of The Song and Cesena, the latter of which played in 2011 in the Cour d'honneur du Palais des papes. In 2009, he developed a praxis he calls the “Time&Space Re-Mix”, based on which he has created Hit, This is not a Hit, White, and True Romance.
A singer, guitar player, and composer, Francisco Contreras Molina, a.k.a. Niño de Elche, uses various performing arts in his projects. From flamenco to industrial rock, from psychedelic electronic music to remixed poetry, his music dodges all the labels one might want to append to it.
