Presentation

  • By making us discover unpublished texts—No Dawn, Voids and Loyalties—or by changing the way we hear excerpts from the Prix Goncourt-winning The Roving Shadows and The Unsettled, Pierre-Yves Chapalain accompanies us on the journeys Pierre Quignard devises for us—personal journeys made of falls and rebirths, journeys through the works that are never for the writer a goal or a desired outcome but a deliberate wandering. The reading will alternate with works by Robert Schuman, Felix Mendelssohn, and Franz Liszt.

Musique sacrée en Avignon offers, in partnership with the Festival d'Avignon, a cycle of concerts/readings that showcase the historic organs of Avignon and its areas. For the 70th edition of the Festival, several works by Pascal Quignard have been selected: The Name on the Tip of the TongueThe Roving ShadowsLes Désarçonnés (The Unsettled), The Music Lesson, as well as unpublished texts, which will be read by Marie Vialle, Pierre-Yves Chapalain, and Didier Sandre.
