Actress and director Sophie Cattani and choreographer and dancer Herman Diephuis are brought together onstage by a forced marriage and have to find a way for desire to arise between them. To better face the problem, they decide to put it at the centre of their relationship. They question it, circle it, their bodies take over... But if desire does eventually come, it brings new questions with it. And since one can also die of pleasure, Sophie Cattani and Herman Diephuis come to wonder about death, of both the little and big variety.
Sophie Cattani
After training as an actress at the ENSATT, Sophie Cattani appeared in many movies (Charlie Says, I'm Glad My Mother is Alive, Tomboy, Polisse, Chercher le garçon). On the stage, she began her career with Michel Raskine and Laurent Pelly, and has worked with Richard Brunel, Galin Stoev, Denis Marleau, and Olivier Maurin, among others. Since 2004, she has co-directed and performed in the shows of the collective ildi ! eldi, which she founded with Antoine Oppenheim (Vice-versa, Shakespeare is dead get over it, Antoine et Sophie font leur cinéma, Les guêpes de l'été nous piquent encore en novembre).
Herman Diephuis
A graduate of the Mudra school, Amsterdam-born Herman Diephuis has performed for many choreographers: Mathilde Monnier, François Verret, Jérôme Bel, Xavier Le Roy, Alain Buffard, Stéphanie Aubin, etc. In 2004, he founded his own company, association ONNO, in order to create his own choreographies, including D'après J.-C., Dalila et Samson, Paul est mort ?, Ciao bella, All of me and Let it be me, Objet principal du voyage, Bang ! and CLAN. Meanwhile, he has also worked on creative projects with amateur dancers and shows in unexpected locales, like parks or museums.
