The Arles Rencontres de la Photographie chose this year, through the exhibition-manifesto From here now, to query the new photographic practices linked to the digital world, as well as the new forms of dissemination via the Internet. What results naturally crosses the democratic question, that of the question of the freedom of artistic creation and, as we have seen on the occasion of the Arab spring, the question of the revolutionary process aiming at democratic construction. This aspect will of course be at the centre of the Arles segment of the Rencontres européennes, bringing together and creating a dialogue between three artists from very different geographic, political, aesthetic and conceptual horizons.
