Located on the far bank of the Rhône, the Chartreuse de Villeneuve lez Avignon is a 14th-century building, a former convent of the Carthusian Order. It has since become a museum and a research centre and houses the Centre National des Ecritures du Spectacle (CNES), which organises artist residency programmes. The CNES is home to three performing venues made available for use by the Festival every summer: the Tinel (a 250-seat theatre), the Studio, and the Église.
Free placement.
